I do think there's some mantling going on here - though eventually the parent took charge of the food and both were fed: I think this is an eaglet flying in from a branch (or at least the outside edge of the nest). There was only one eaglet in the previous refresh - the one on the right (under the wings). |

One seems to be getting more lift, but I think both were an inch or so up at the height of their flapping! And part of the time they were just standing there with their wings outstretched, feeling the wind and leaning into it - practice for soaring later, I suspect!" |
