She seems to be nesting far back on the bowl. It seems breezy, her feathers are rustling in the wind." Numerous reports of Mom acting restless, sitting a bit differently, and possible sightings of fuzzy head (first posted obs of fuzzy head by soph9 at 8:22; too many comments by too many people to quote directly). April 20, at least two fish delivered in the morning (soph9, Early Bird, and at least two small fish in the early afternoon (CovingtonKat). ocean observed: "April 20, 5:53 ---One chick's head is clearly visible - as the parent eagle feeds it over a long period of time. The chicks peeps are extremely strong and sound good. Lots of strong peeping and parent doing a lot of displaying food in front of it. Parent seems to be trying to get it to eat the food and turns its head from side to side displaying the bits of food. Now parent is moving in on top of the chick." lyndabird observed: "April 20, 7:16 pm PDT Mom is up and feeding the eaglet. She takes a bite and feeds it bit by bit to the chick. The chick is peeping and taking the food. Mom's beak is so big and the eaglets beak is so small but Mom is managing to get some food into the chick. She's very patient." |

sandra gee observed: "April 20, 7:58pm PDT.....Parent up and moves to side of nest, is eating and then up pops the cutest little head and then it looks like parent is trying to regurgitate...then picks off the tiniest pieces of meat and feeds the little one. That's one hungry little chick!!! 8:03pm PDT.....Parent continues to feed the chick and the chick is still asking for more. Amazing how the parent turns it's head to make it easier for the little one to take the food. 8:05pm...still feeding. Just heard a noise and think the other parent may have landed ,but cannot see it. 8:06pm PDT.....Yes the other parent has also come home. Parent that was feeding the chick has now snuggled down on nest.....correction, is rousting about and is not settled at all, has turned to face the CU and continues to roust about in nest and now looks to be settling down. Other parent is standing on the side of the nest." |

The chick seems to be eating faster. She fed the chick for 5 minutes." sandra gee observed, "April 22, 4:05pm PDT.....CU shows that it is a fish parent is continuing to feed the eaglet. Eaglet looks very alert and very strong....able to control its little head and reach for the food parent is offering." lyndabird observed, "April 22, 6:27 pm PDT Dad is up and is feeding the eaglet. The little head is getting easier to see as he has grown! His beak is darker and more pronounced. He's peeping all the time and is hungry. Dad is feeding him lots of long stringy stuff. Fed for 5 minutes." |

lyndabird observed, "9:38 am PDT Mom stands up and there is the eaglet. It has grown since yesterday as its total head and part of its body is now visible, although it could just be in a more visible part of the nest bowl. Mom has pulled a fish over and is gently taking bits of stringy food and feeding the eaglet, but she gets a bite for herself in between. The eaglet seems to have slightly more control over its head today, not moving from side to side as much." CyndyK2 observed: April 23, 1:18 Eagle time, Mom up onto the side of the nest, eaglet's head popped up from underneath mom, and a little poop shoot soon followed. Going to be awhile before it can slice out of the nest! |

sandra gee observed, "April 23, 4:47pm PDT.....Just tuned in to see the peeper being fed by (I'm not sure who).....the peeper seems very strong and can really pop up to take the food ...so cute and my what a little chatterbox.... I Love Barbaro observed, "April 23, 7:15 - Parent pulling and ever-so-gently feeding babe. This looks like Dad. However, he does what Mom did so uniquely and characteristically last season, and that is to hold the food just above the eaglet's mouth and then encourage the eaglet to raise its head in a slight upward stretch in order to get the food. It must be Mom. As she feeds, she keeps turning her head as if trying to get just the right angle to facilitate the babe's gentle take." |

sandra gee observed, "April 25, 8:27am PDT.....My goodness...that little one is already trying so hard to climb up the side of the nest." I Love Barbaro observed: "April 25, 9:55 - What a delightful sight! In view was not only the top of the little one's formerly bobbing head, but its entire face as well as all of its neck and the tops of its wings. I was able to steal only a glance before the dreaded buffering took over, but it seemed that the babe was either much higher in the nest, standing much taller on its legs, or was able to extend its neck much farther than before. For sure, it was a lot steadier on its feet with much better balance. Such a treat!" |

I Love Barbaro observed, "April 25, 4:24 pm - Just tuned in to see a parent feeding the little one. I did not notice a shift change, so I am going to assume the parent is Mom. The eaglet is getting so big that as Mom settles into the nest at the end of the meal, which she is doing now, she has to push the little one down with her chest to keep him down while she seals the opening. It's like when having to push the jack in the box down into its compartment and then close the lid quickly before Jack pops back up again!" link to Sierra's video "Just Chillin' in the Nestbowl" |

lyndabird observed, "April 27, 1:19 pm Mom's back and immediately Dad backs off, flies up to the branch above and then flies off. Mom steps in and keeps on feeding the little guy. Wow, Mom's giving him some fair sized chunks and his crop is getting big. He's had enough and the rain starts coming down harder and Mom settles down on him quickly to protect him, facing 8 o'clock WA." gordon24freak observed: "April 27, 4:43 Mom's up, off the kid, and off the nest. Little one is being greeted by Dad about 5 seconds later. Dad flew in the back door. Dad is walking over to check out his little one. Very carefully over to the nest bowl. The chick moves over towards Dad, tries to climb the nest bowl to him. Nice crop on the little one, who is preening his wing feathers." |
