As of April 29, Mama Liberty has a mate being called Papa; I don't know if he was one of the males who showed up last year after male Freedom died. I watched the dvr/rollback for a while, and both were taking long turns on the egg(s), which is a good sign.
May 6 - Glacier Gardens announced that the new male
would be named Prosperity.

Unfortunately the nearby homeowner who had been supplying the power for the cams is having major work done on his property this spring, so the cams are offline; local observers think the adults may be in the area, but haven't seen evidence yet that they are nesting. |

Ma Delta & DM/Delta Male (4/27/22 - )
Unfortunately the pair have not used the new nest with the cams, nesting instead on a nearby power tower in 2023 and 2024; no local observers so we don't know if they used that nest in 2025 or this year.
As of June 2026,
no one is using the nest on the pole. We heard from a long-time local observer that there were eagles using the tower pole, but the female is not "our" Ma and the male is new as well; I've followed the Delta 2 eagles since the first cam was installed there in 2011, and have so admired Ma's strength through the years; I know it's not likely, but I hope Ma and her mate have retired to a lovely little spot with lots of fish.
Another local observer reported that there were two large eaglets on one of the towers in the area, and saw an adult with a chick on another tower; I'm not sure if either of those are what we call the tower pair - unfortunately that nest is best viewed from the East cam, which is currently offline; all we can see with the remaining cam is lots of lovely green leaves. |

new cam for 2025
Glen (M) and Gladys (F)
(Glen is for Gleneagles and Gladys is a name observers thought went well with Glen)
The young pair had a "getting to know you" year in 2025, then did some work in the nest in the fall, so we are hoping they will nest in 2026.
Exciting news - and then sad news. Gladys laid her first egg ever at 7:55 pm on March 29; we worried that it might not be fertile because we'd only seen them mate once - and that was earlier that afternoon, so too late to fertilize that egg, and clumsy enough that we were sure they had not had much practice. Gladys stayed on the egg through the night, getting up to roll it occasionally; in the morning she called and flew off; Glen did not come in to take over (and may never have seen that there was an egg), and three hours later a raven arrived, broke the egg, and ate the contents.
Gladys laid a second egg 4 days later on April 2nd; Glen came to the nest the next evening and saw the egg, and he incubated the egg for the first time the evening April 5. As of April 7, he has incubated several other times, and the egg is not being left alone as much as happened initially, so we are cautiously optimistic.
Sad news - the remaining egg broke at 2:38 am on April 9 when Gladys accidentally stepped on it; we suspect it
may have been compromised – it was left alone more than usual initially, and a crow did peck at it a few times with no visible damage, but that might have weakened the shell and/or provided a way for bacteria to get in which might lead to collapse of the egg; eagles do accidentally step on eggs and they don’t normally break.
As of April 29, Glen and Gladys have been doing work on the nest, likely to get it ready for next year. Local observers reported that another pair in the area laid eggs on April 15 - but it's getting very late in the season for that. Both adults seemed to learn a lot this year, and I have high hopes for next year.

New cams were installed for the 2023-2024 nesting season, but the pair apparently built a new nest nearer the river where they raised two chicks.

Rey (M) & Brit (F) (2022 -
)
next eaglet will be SR12
Note: the numbering system is for chicks that hatched in the territory since we set up the cams, not by a particular pair; SR1 through SR6 were produced by our previous pair Sur and Res; Res and Sur laid their first egg earlier, between Feb 24 and Mar 7.
As of April 7, no one is using the nest with the camera, though observers think Rey and possibly Brit visited briefly in late January; a local observer reported that it looks as if a pair of eagles may have at least one egg in a nest in nearby Peace Arch Park, though he hasn't been able to confirm whether or not it is our pair.
On June 18 a local photographer with a very long lens
got a screenshot of an eaglet in the nest in Peace Arch Park, and said it looked as if a second eaglet was being fed in the nest. There's still a lot of construction near the nest with the cams, but there is a chance our pair - or some pair - will use the nest next year.

Dad and Mom (thru March 18, 2025)
Dad disappeared right after the first egg was laid in 2025; at least two other males were seen, but we don't know yet who Mom's mate will be in 2026
Zulu
Apex
Note: the chicks have been named by the landowner mostly following the aviation alphabet, so occasionally we have unusual names for the eaglets; the first eaglet for 2026 is named Zulu, for the last letter in the aviation alphabet, and the second eaglet is named Apex, starting a new series of 26 alphabetical names.
Update - March 25 - Mom and her mate (who may be the Dad from previous years) are using their alternate nest, which does not have cams that can see into the nest; we're quite certain when the first egg was laid, and it looked as if she was laying a second egg two days later - which is almost certainly too soon for a viable egg - so we'll have to wait and see what happens next.
Update - April 27 - we thought the adults were acting as if a hatch was in progress, and got a first glimpse of a fluffy head above the edge of the nest at 5:24 pm.
We are not sure how many eggs were laid, but the observer team is watching closely in case a second head appears.
April 29 - second eaglet is confirmed at 3:21 pm; because of the obstacles to seeing into the nest, it may have been laid a bit later than we thought, so may have hatched on day 36 rather than 37 - but the important and exciting thing is that it has hatched! (big smile)

Sandy
Luna
January 30 update - sad news - the adults were away from the nest longer than usual, and ravens came in and damaged at least one and maybe both of the eggs, and I think ate the contents on one; it's early in the season, so they might clutch again - or could even lay a third egg for their initial clutch. Observers don't know what else was going on to cause the adults to leave the nest - and this seems to be one of the times we have to just trust the eagles.
As of April 29, both eggs in the second clutch hatched, and both eaglets are doing well.
May 1 - per a news story, almost 64,000
names were submitted in a public fundraiser, and local school children voted on the final names.
Observers think Sandy may be female and Luna may be male.
Apparently Sandy slipped from the nest, perhaps after being bumped by Luna, at 11:24 am on June 28 (85 days old); Sandy was seen flying afterwards, so it's being considered a fledge.
Luna had a more traditional fledge the following morning; both are doing fine.
July 4 - both fledglings are at the nest, and there have been several fish deliveries.

Lee (29/D) (M) & Isla (F) (unbanded)
There were a number of changes in 2025, with young adult Haku (an unbanded female looking about 4 years old so perhaps hatched in 2021) replacing Thunder, and several males temporarily replacing Akecheta, who appeared to have recovered from his injuries and reclaimed his territory in October 2025.
Update - January 21 - per Facebook, there's a new young pair who have been there about 2 weeks and have recently been observed mating. I don't know the rest of the story yet - sounds as if Akecheta hasn't been seen since December 30th, and I don't know when Haku was last seen.
Update March 25 - the new young pair laid their first egg March 15; it was broken by ravens on March 16; new female has been named Isla (Spanish for island, pronounced eye-la); the male is 29/D "Lee", who hatched at Seal Rocks on Catalina Island in 2022. |

Ryder
The third egg was laid just after midnight; I don't have the hatch time yet, but if it was later in the day, the time might have been closer to 35 days.
Youngest eaglet Ryder fell out of the (happily relatively low) nest on April 24; happily someone from IWS was able to get there later that day, check the chick, and return it to the nest.
June 4 - took a peek at the web cam and saw three big, beautiful eaglets! They are about 9 weeks old now.
Per CIEL Facebook page, Sasha fledged June 9
(73 days old); Zuma fell from a branch on June 20 (82 days old); Ryder slipped off the nest on June 22 (83 days old). Because of their age, I'm considering Zuma and Ryder as accidental fledges or fludges unless I hear otherwise. |

February 6 - there's a third egg!
Sad news - the third egg broke a few hours after it was laid; the first egg is still looking good.
February 17 - more sad news -
the remaining egg broke; it made it almost half way to hatching.
Second clutch started March 10 -sadly the first egg broke about an hour after it was laid.
March 15 - not sure when the second egg of the second clutch was laid, but it appeared broken in a screenshot from

March 23 - from posts on Facebook: egg #6 (3rd egg of second clutch) was laid on March 16 and broke soon afterwards; egg #7 was apparently laid in an alternate nest in the tree behind their historic nest on Mach 19, and it appeared from their behavior that it broke later that day; Audacity laid egg #8 in the original nest on March 22 and it broke soon afterwards. FSV57
Update - March 20 - Raptor Resource Project reported that 2021-2025 male Pa Jr was found dead late last year, apparently electroculted after flying into a power line (steps are being taken to try to prevent future losses in the area); I've seen that there's a new male, being know as Pa3, and that Ma has been there since 2007 - and that Ma and Pa3 have produced 4 eggs! More details when I have time to do a bit of research.
Update - May 8 - my guess is that the middle two eggs hatched; the hatch dates are outside the normal range for the other two eggs (April 5 would be day 41 for the first and April 8 would be day 32 for the fourth), but Elfruler noted that hatch time was 40 days and a bit over 6 hours after the first egg was laid and first eggs here often take 40 days - so it might be either the first or the second. There might have been a pip in a third egg on April 10, but I'm not seeing any indication that there were other signs it might hatch. |

As of March 23rd, Quinn has not returned to the nest (solo fledglings have less reason to return as there's not a sibling being fed there) - and the monitors of an eagle nest about 4000 feet away have reported that a fledgling has been showing up at that nest and is being fed with the two not-yet-fledged resident eaglets; there's no way to positively confirm the identity of the fledgling, but Window to Wildlife is "fairly confident" it's Quinn.
Update - April 17 - Window to Wildlife, which does the streaming for this cam, announced that the Captiva Eagle & Osprey Cam property is being sold, and they don't know if the new owners will be open to having cameras there.
They are removing the cams but leaving the infrastructure so they can reinstall the cams (or better cams) if the owners are willing - and if not, they will be looking for other nests to share with us. Stay tuned! |

new cam for 2022
adults Ron (M) & Rose (2023 -
)
(Ron and original female Rita were named after Ron Magill, Communications Director for Zoo Miami, and his wife Rita; their conservation endowment is funding the cam. Rita's wing was badly injured in November 2022 and she is now an educational eagle. 2023 female Rose's coloring suggests she hatched in 2018); Rose laid her first egg on February 4, 2023 - late for the area and now that we have more data, I'm excluding it from "first egg likely" box.

R10 (M)
Update - R10 had a bit of a fludge on March 4 but recovered and flew into the tree next to the nest.
Both eaglets were banded on January 31, and tests at the time confirmed they are both male.

(2022 - 2024)
adults Blaze (M) & Skye (F) (2025 -

great horned owls Gus & Willow (2026 - )
next eaglet will be EC9
Update - Abby was apparently replaced by a new female in fall 2024; the new female has been named Skye; she has some shading on her head and tail, suggesting that she's a young adult. No eggs in 2025 so it may have been a "getting to know you" year.
As of November 16, 2025, Skye is back
but Blaze has not been seen, and a new male appears to be spending time with Skye at the nest.
January 11, 2026 - apparently the eagles didn't nest, and a pair of great horned owls came along - and
the female just laid an egg; I don't know the exact time, but there's a video showing a peek at the egg at 9:25 am.
As of June 4, I'm finding no indication that the egg hatched or showed signs it might hatch. |

Mom F23 was last seen at the nest the morning of February 28; on March 3rd the cam operators reported that a dead female eagle was found less then two miles from the nest, possibly the victim of a collision with an automobile, and while there's no definitive proof, they believe it is F23; rest in peace, mighty eagle, and fly free, far beyond the sky. |

new cam for the 2023 season
adults Pepe (M) & Muhlady (F)
SB-7/Mira
SB-8/Froto
SB-9/Zeagle
First chick hatched during the night and was initially seen at 7:22 am on December 8; SuperBeaks likely checked the dvr to get the actual hatch time. Second chick was very close to completely free of shell at 9:36 am on December 9th and second half of shell moved out by adult at 9:53 am, so I initially considered that the hatch time though I didn't see the chick clearly free until 10:47 am; again, SuperBeaks has an earlier time that I'm now using.
December 19 - I'm seeing reports that middle eaglet Froto may have died, perhaps because of disruption on the nest at night caused by one or more owls, or perhaps because that sometimes just happens; Froto was 10 days old.
Rest in peace, young one, and fly free, far beyond the sky.
February 1 - per Superbeaks, the top branch supporting the overhead cam fell across the nest during high winds on January 1st, leaving a wire draped over the nest. Both eaglets have been seen, and it's been decided that trying to intervene would endanger the eaglets (they're old enough that they might jump if someone approached the nest). Hoping that all will continue to be well for the eaglets.
March 15 update - Mira fledged March 6 (haven't found the time yet); Zeagle "fludged" (had an accidental fledge, slipping while leaping to a branch) on March 10; Zeagle hasn't returned to the nest, but was heard in the area
July 2 update - found a picture from April 2 of one
fledgling in the nest while the other flew by, so they were both still in the area then; not finding a timeline or summary post. |

eaglets being called Sissy and Lil Bit on Facebook - not sure if that's official.
According to the notes under the stream on YouTube, the female is blind in one eye but continues to hunt and thrive; the cam sponsors hope to post more history about the nest and the eagles as time goes by.
February 6 - names for the adults were announced; they were named by the landowner; they will have a form to suggest names for the two eaglets soon.
March 15 - Brutus was knocked from the nest by an owl on March 14 around 11:25 pm
(64 days old); Florida Audubon has reported "rescue complete" but I haven't found details yet
March 23 - last I heard, Brutus is doing well in rehab, and she(? - guess based on size and they will test) will not be returned to the nest because of the risk that Peanut might jump, but may be released near the nest when she is ready
April 3 - it was announced that Brutus is male
May 1 update - I learned that Peanut fledged on April 13 and is still returning to the nest, and
an April 30 post from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey mentioned that Brutus had been returned to the wild the previous week - and then I found a post from Connor O'Brien of Window to Wildlife (which provides the cams) noting that he had the honor to release Brutus on April 20; not sure if the release was near the nest, but nest and release site are both on private property in central Florida (though I'm sure there's a lot of private property there).

adults not named but nicknamed Dad and Missy
next eaglet will be B18
Update, January 15 - Dad was last seen in September and a large adult who might be Missy was was spending the night by the nest in late October/early November; there's some thought that they may have moved to an alternate nest. By mid-November, observers were seeing a young eagle with quite a bit of shading on the head and tail (and that might be the eagle originally identified as Missy as shading is hard to see at night, and this cam doesn't have dvr, at least during the off-season); a second smaller similar-aged young adult was also seen a few days later; the young pair were being called Attie (the female, for "attitude") and Artie. On November 27, Missy and Dad visited the nest and chased Attie and Artie off. By mid-December, Attie and Artie were back. No clue what may happen next.
As of April 30, it sounds as if eagles are seen occasionally, but no one is nesting there.

Sad news - one egg (maybe the first) broke the morning of February 25; it's not unusual for this pair to lay three eggs - so perhaps there will be another one.

I'm not finding a lot of information, but as of June 24, both were seen branching, and I've watched them flap/hop from the branch to the nest, and back and forth across the nest getting some nice height, so I think they are close to fledging; they are about 11 weeks old.
July 1 - need to get details but the nest came down in a storm on June 28; one eaglet was seen flying away, the other was still on the nest when it went out of sight. Local wildlife folks searched the area and didn't find any bad news, so everyone was cautiously optimistic as they were old enough to fledge - and I just saw a report on the "All Eagles" Facebook page that both eaglets were perched on the nest tree.

the three eaglets in 2021 were D37, D38 and D39; there hasn't been a cam on the pair's new nest since then - I think they have had eaglets since then, but the details I've found are sketchy so I don't know if they are still assigning numbers, or what the first number would be this year.
I think the eagles are still/again using a remote nest out of sight of the cams in 2025. I think the nest with the cams is one of the two nests that are being used by geese.

I think the adults are using a new nest out of sight of the cams, and there are geese using the nest with the cam. Raptor Resouce Project reported that they picked up an eagle in distress near the Hatchery on March 30, 2025, and sadly the adult died soon after rescue. She tested negative for avian flu, so they are conducting more tests. They saw HD afterwards, so the adult may have been HM.
DH4 fledged at 5:45 am on June 18 (81 days); I haven't found official notice of DH3's fledge, but
per the Raptor Resource forum, DH3 was last seen on the cam around 5:15 pm on June 18, moving out of sight on the branches, and it sounded as if the eaglet might have fledged from a higher branch |

February 10 - Mr. North may be missing - need to do more research, but another male may be challenging him for the territory
February 12 - it was confirmed on chat that Mr North is back and looks fine
Update - March 27 - I'm not sure when he appeared on the scene, but there is a new male being called UM (Unknown Male); I believe he did not help with the egg and there was a report that DNF has stopped incubating as of March 23; there is also another intruder disrupting the nest.

Milo-16
Because the cam is not near the nest and cannot look into the nest bowl, the dates and times for laying eggs are based on what can be seen of the adult's behavior; the hatch dates match up with the dates observers thought the second and third eggs were laid - so likely either the first egg didn't hatch - or there really wasn't an egg laid before March 8.
As of July 4, I see one active eaglet flying from branch to branch and very close to fledging. and have asked about the other eaglet.
July 4 update on Milo-15, thanks to MaineMoxie -
one eaglet appeared to be choking after eating on June 4, initially looking as if he/she was trying to get up a pellet, but then looking it was much more severe than that, and the eaglet fell from the tree at 2:35 pm and died; the eaglet's body was tested for avian influenza and that was negative, but the authorities did not do further testing, so it might have been simple choking or possibly the eaglet was poisoned by some sort of heavy metal or rodenticide in something he/she ate - we'll never know; observers believe it was younger eaglet Milo-15 who died, at 50 days old.
As of July 4, the remaining eaglet is looking great and flying from branch to branch in the nest, very close to fledging; Milo-16 is 79 days old.
Milo-16 fledged at 8:19 am on July 7, a very deliberate flight off in the general direction of the cam; as of early evening, cam operators haven't spotted the fledgling, but there are many, many lovely places for a young eagle to go there, many of which are not in sight of the cam. In other news, a fairly large looking part of the tree holding the camera came down last night; fortunately the part with the camera and the wiring all survived, so we could watch the fledge this morning.
July 9 - Milo-16 was seen flying by and landing in a nearby tree this morning, and then flew to the nest, where she or he is having a nice rest.

Sasanoa River

This is a pair of eagles that nest near me; even though dates will be approximate, I'm adding them to this table for my own reference purposes. Their nest is a bit unique in that it's on an osprey platform on a small island in the Sasanoa River. My normal viewing point is on a bridge about 3/10 of a mile from the nest.
I haven't seen eagles using the nest for several years, and occasionally see an osprey standing on the platform keeping watch, but it's probably too close to close to the other two active osprey nests in the area for osprey to use it. There were eagles nesting on the other side of the bridge in 2023, but not easy to see, and we didn't notice anyone in that nest in 2024, though it's fairly high in a tree with lots of branches, so not easy to see. |

Update as of April 30 - it looks as if there will be no eggs this year. There were potentially several factors involved - other eagles in the area, causing them to focus on defending their territory when their hormones would usually be switching to nesting, and perhaps the weather, as there was a lot of snow on the nest around the time they usually lay eggs, though they brought more sticks and eventually there was a welcoming looking nest. |

New cam to me for 2026 -
Soren (M?) & Skye (F?)
Sunday (F?)
Scout
(M?)
Per the history section on the cam page, the cameras went live on 1/17/2025; the pair laid two eggs in 2025 (on 2/25 and 2/28) and both hatched (4/3 and 4/5); sadly the younger one appeared weak after hatching and died the following day, April 6; the remaining eaglet, named Storm, started some serious branching on June 20 (83 days old) - and fledged at 11:36 am that morning. Storm was heard nearby later that day and the next day, and returned to the nest on June 22 after seeing an adult bring food. As of an update by falconshireraptors.org on July 3, 2025, Storm was still returning to the nest.
I think from captions on pictures in the cam chat that Skye is the female, and has more dark feathers on the head; per a web search, Soren is usually a male name.
Update - July 4 - it sounds from a statement posted on the cam page on May 21 that there was a lot of rivalry, and younger eaglet Scout died on June 1st (62 days old - almost 9 weeks); the camera link is offline, and I am not finding any recent information about remaining eaglet Sunday, who would be 14 weeks old tomorrow if all went well. |

Per online updates, Snow had two wing fractures and a respiratory illness, and was transferred to

As of July 8, she was in a flight cage with foster parents and other juvies; they said she showed no sign of asper (assuming that means aspergillosis), which is good news, and has not been seen using her wings yet but it sounds as if they think the wings have healed enough that she will be able to fly; she was 13 weeks old on July 11.

if so, next eaglet would be E14
DNR II (aka EagleCam nest)
(new pair for 2025, I think in a new location)
adults and eaglets not named
I think the DNR II pair are using a nest near the one where the cam was installed, so the nest is visible but the cam can't see into it so arrival of the first egg is when the adults acted as if there was an egg.
MN DNR's March update reported that three chicks were confirmed in the nest as of March 30; as of April 30, I am seeing 3 medium size eaglets in the nest, so all appears to be going well here.
News release from MN DNR said the three eaglets were banded on May 11, and "All three eaglets were identified as female, appeared healthy, and were estimated as seven to eight weeks old." It sounds from the report as if they just got the silver official USGS bands, and not the additional easier to read colored bands some eaglets get.
May 24 - per a post in the Friends of MN Nongame Eagle Cam Facebook group, long-time observers/photographers of the eagles there are naming the eaglets after Lori Naumann (a longtime
employee of MN DNR who died recently); the names they chose are Lori, Noelle, and Birdie (after her beloved dog)
July 12 update - catching up on events - per the MN DNR eagle cam page,
the three eaglets were banded on May 11 and all were identified as female (I think that means measurements suggested that but they did do blood tests), and they were estimated to be 7-8 weeks old (based on the likely hatch dates, they would be 6-7 weeks old, so probably either hatched a bit earlier than was suspected, or are really large females). One of the eaglets left the nest on or before June 10 (over 10 weeks old) and staff found the eaglet on the ground and uninjured; when they returned to follow up on June 14, they found the eaglet in deep vegetation where the parents couldn't feed her, so brought the eaglet to the Raptor Center, where it was eating and seemed alert. The other two eaglets fledged on June 18 and June 22. The eaglet at the Raptor Center was cleared for release and joined the Center's new post release monitoring project; she was released at the nest site on June 18 with new leg bands and a GPS tracking device. I haven't seen any further updates - hopefully there will be more news later this month. |

New cam to me for 2026 -
Freedom and Liberty (not sure which is which)
Honor
Valor
Update - March 25 - the City of Blue Springs reported on March 24 that the third egg hatched and one of the eaglets had died; not sure if the hatch was on or before the 24th, or which one died.
As of July 12, watching the live feed, I saw an adult arrive with food, and take a couple of little bites while looking around, and a few minutes later, a fledgling arrived and took control of the food, and the adult flew off. Per an AI Overview,
the two surviving chicks were named Honor and Valor in a community voting contest. There was a bit of drama in early May when one eaglet got a foot tangled in netting brought to the nest, but apparently the eaglet was able to free itself as authorities decided against intervention. One of the eaglets was knocked from the nest by an owl on May 30 (about 10 weeks old) and seen flying on June 1st; they expected the second eaglet to fledge the first week in June, but I haven't found any information beyond June 1. |

2020 female and new male for 2024
E1 (they don't continue numbers from previous year)/banded H72 (M)
Apparently the link changes frequently; if you get "not found" search on YouTube for Duke Farms Eagle Cam.
As of February 24, one of the eggs (maybe the first?) appeared to crack prematurely, and seemed to be empty. Happily there was a successful hatch at 7:02 am on February 22 (38 days for egg 2, 35 for egg 3); there was major snow on February 23, but the nest cup area stayed dry and the tiny one appears to be doing well; the remaining egg has not hatched, and is covered much of the time to protect it and the chick from the cold.
May 12 update - Catching up - the eaglet was banded on April 6 - green(?) band with H over 72 - they are reporting he's male. He fledged on May 10 - it looked as if he slipped a bit while flap/hopping to a branch, but recovered nicely and flew strongly away from the nest; H72 returned to the nest around 11:17 am on May 12.
June 23 update - per the Facebook group, H72 visited the nest at 5:18 am on June 23; he's 121 days old, or a bit over 17 weeks, so has been flying 6 weeks.
July 12 update - H72 was seen at the nest on July 8 (136 days), and observers thought they heard him calling early on the morning of July 10 (138 days - almost 20 weeks) |

Update April 18 - thanks to the person who sent me the link and this additional information: "The first eaglet, INWR 1, hatched 4/1, April Fool's Day. INWR 2 hatched 4/3, Good Friday. INWR 1 then died 4/6 when IF1's talon accidentally knocked it out of the egg cup. It was unable to make its way back and died from exposure. INWR 3 hatched 4/7 but died on 4/12 when it fell from the nest." More details here - https://orleanshub.com/second-eaglet-falls-out-of-nest-dies-at-iroquois-refuge/ |

Helene
Sponsored by Port Morien Wildlife Association
Thanks to SueD who posted about this nest on the Hancock Wildlife forum. I need to do more research - Sue mentioned that they laid three eggs but sadly two of them rolled off the nest. Happily the remaining egg hatched, and there are pics of a fairly small chick being fed on May 3rd. The "Everything Cape Breton" facebook page reported that the chick hatched around 10:17 pm on April 25, and said the eaglet was named Helene in honor of the cofounder of CWRC (Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre) |

adults Stars (F) and Stripes (M) thru 2024
new pair took over the nest in 2025 - not named yet
next eaglet will be R27
(2025 info: Update - March 30 - Cindy Duffala has posted a timeline on Facebook showing that other eagles began challenging the resident pair for the nest last fall, and a new pair appears to have won. Stars and Stripes have not been seen since the morning of February 17; the new pair are being called Couple #1, and will probably be named by the students at the school.
April 9 - I just saw a report on Facebook saying that a recent storm has disabled the cams, so they will probably not have updates until next year.
October 22 - the little I found seemed to say that there were no cams this year, and there may be a new pair at the nest Stars and Stripes had used, and maybe they moved. It sounded as if they were hoping for cams for 2026, so we'll see.)

adults Freedom (M) and Liberty (F) (through 2022)
Duke (M) and Duchess
(F) (2023-)
as of March 2026, adults Hope (F) & Peace (M)
next eaglet will be H12 (if they continue numbering from the previous pair)
Based on a fairly quick search, I'm pretty sure no eagle pair used the nest in 2025, though there was a raccoon who spent some time there, and I saw some pictures of a pair of vultures visiting among the snapshots on HDonTap's Hanover Eagles Live Cam page.
Update - April 13; male Peace disappeared partway through incubation so Hope is raising the chicks on her own; there is a young male hanging around, but he's not bonded to the chicks so not likely to help with feeding and brooding
so it won't be easy for the chicks to survive; keeping fingers crossed.
Sad news - all three eaglets died April 19-20; from the information I found quickly, it sounds as if the new male came to the nest and decided the little chicks were food; the younger two were in danger anyway from potential lack of food, but the oldest was one week old and healthy. Though I know this is nature, I'm very happy I was not watching. Rest in peace, little ones, and fly free forever, far beyond the sky. |

the PA Game Commission has asked that the eagles not be named;
(observers call the adults Lisa & Oliver after the TV show Green Acres)
nest is in Lancaster County; exact location not released to protect privacy of the land owner and the nest
March 23 - not sure of the date, but one egg appeared to break near hatch time and was nonviable (runny contents); there's still one egg left to hatch
March 25 - still only 2 chicks; today is day
40 for the 4th egg, so another hatch is highly unlikely; March 16 was day 40 for the first egg or day 37 for the second egg; March 20 was day 38 for the third egg or day 35 for the fourth egg; looking at time to hatch from previous years, I'm inclined to think that it was the first two eggs that hatched - but there's no way to know for sure. |

next eaglet will be HR16
October 2025 - looking back through Facebook, it appears that the eagles were around, but did not raise chicks this year.
Possibly a coincidence, but an article posted on Facebook mentioned that the last year they were successful was 2022, and there was a train derailment
near the Allegheny River (which I believe is near the nest), and (according to the article) the accident did not affect the ability of the parents to provide fish for their young that year - but observers are wondering if some lasting effect is why they haven't raised chicks since then.
Update - March 25
- local observers reported that they appeared to start incubating on March 5; if they are successful this year, we won't know how many chicks until they are tall enough to peek over the edge

GH4
Update from Eagles of Hays PA facebook group in April 2025 says that they are now sure the Hays female is at what they are calling the Glen Hazel nest, and they think she is still with her new mate HM2.
November 4, 2025 - the Hays Pittsburgh Eagle Cam facebook group reported on September 16 that there were plans for a new Pittsburgh Hays camera and posted October 21 that both eagles were back and nestorations had been in progress for a couple of weeks. I don't yet know if the camera will be on the nest that the Eagles of Hays PA facebook group is documenting or if those are two separate nests - which is why I have shown both potential numbering options.
First egg at Glen Hazel nest arrived around 2:58 pm on February 24; I'm going to record the dates for that nest here - and if there is another nest being covered as well, I'll add that later.
Sad news - as of May 18, I'm seeing that both eaglets died, likely of avian flu; younger GH4 died on May 17 and GH3 on May 18

From 2024: Per a January post on the Dale Hollow Eagle Cam facebook page, it appears that River has picked a new mate for 2024, and the pair apparently are building a new nest, out of view of the cam. MCBNC = Matagorda County Birding Nature Center; Matagorda County is on the Gulf coast of Texas, south of Houston and east of San Antonio.
E1/Uno
E2/Dos
As of December 23, the adults aren't named; there's a naming contest going on, with names to be chosen soon after the eggs hatch. I haven't found much background, but have the impression that the eagles have nested there for a while, though the cam is new. It sounds as if you can see the nest from the nature center (or an observation area they sponsor near the center), so if you're in the area, you might be able to see them in the distance while peeking into the nest on your cell phone.
January 15 - sad news - it appears that younger eaglet Dos has died; the little one was moving around a little around 7:40 am, but looked much smaller and less active; watching some of the video from later today, the older chick looks great, and there was something in the bottom of the nest cup that might have been Dos; the tiny one was two weeks old today.
January 19 - the sad news continues - older eaglet Uno appears to have died overnight; observed symptoms for both eaglets suggest avian flu, but there's no way to tell without a necropsy; Uno was 19 days old. A rough start for a new streaming cam, and keeping fingers crossed that both parents are OK.
Rest in peace, little ones.

A second camera was installed in August 2025 - nice to have two views of the nest.
November 4 - one of the pair was seen on the tower the morning of September 25; on October 4, 2025, JBS posted on Facebook that a few days after the male returned, a younger female (still some gray shading on her head) joined him, and they've been spending time together; they noted that there's still time for Mom to return, but if she's not back in the next 7-10 days, it's unlikely that she'll return.
As of a November 2 post by JBS, it looks as if Mom is back and the pair is actively preparing for the coming season.
Sad news - February 10 - JBS confirmed that one of the eaglets had died, and identified it as the younger one, JBS25; rest in peace, little one, and fly free forever, far beyond the sky. |
