The pair has been observed since 2002 - you can read the Nest Diaries online at the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation website - but this is its first year online.

The cam appears to use rapidly refreshing still pictures which are close to streaming at times, and much slower at others.

Based on past experience, look for eggs in the first half of March, chicks in mid-April, and fledging in early July.
